Random Thoughts about what Love is.

October 19, 2010

Do you agree that…

Love is all powerful. Love doesn’t care about power. If love had a choice, it’d probably choose to be powerless. But love can’t help it. When love shows up, you just become empowered.

To be great, you have to make yourself equal. Do not belittle yourself, but realize that there is no depth nor height in this world that makes any of us higher than anyone else.

Pride isย a barrier between persons. Removing pride removes a barrier. Stop thinking that one person must be right and the other wrong. People just are, most often neither right nor wrong. They just act, often times without knowing why. Forgive them. And forgive yourself. Remember that when you see yourself as any greater, you are putting up a wall. Know that they, too, have a reason, a history, for the way they act.

Humility and love go hand in hand. To serve is to love, and service takes humility.

We cannot get anywhere in this world by believing that love is meant for some and not for others. Love is meant for all.

All signifies the whole of, the greatest possible quantity, every kind, every sort, any, every s i n g l e one, all of us, each of us.
But what it really means is that love is meant for the man inside the prison walls, convicted of the highest crime. It is meant for the smallest child in a second grade classroom scared to raise his hand and ask a question. The bartender working 3 jobs to pay off college debt. The 84-year-old lady newly admitted to the nursing home, afraid to be alone in this place. The young professional working 60 hours this week just for a reputation and resume. The man in front of McDonalds that sells the homeless newspaper the first week of every month. Each face that you will ever see in your lifetime is intended to know love. To experience it, to love, to be loved, to be love. To feel like love alone has satisfied and that they need NOTHING else in life.

Not only is love intended for all. But love does not play favorites. Love is always equal.

Equal signifies as great as, the same as, like, alike, evenly proportioned, balanced, uniform in operation or effect, impartial, equitable.
But what it really means is that all of these people can experience love in the same. There is no headstart with love. There is no ground to be made up. When love is present, all ground is common. Experience love and you’ll know what this means more than any of my written words could tell.

Above all else, know that this life is about discovery. It’s a journey, and sometimes you’ll know love. Sometimes you’ll lose love. But in the end, you just have to be love.
